The Nigerian National petroleum corporation ,NNPC, in collaboration with Belema oil Nigeria limited has donated a live support ambulance worth fifty million Naira to Aminu Kano teaching Hospital, Kano.
The Managing Director of Belema oils Mr Pedro Diaz during the presentation to AKTH management said the gesture was part of the companies social corporate Responsibility aimed at uplifting the health status of the populace.
“The aim of the gesture was support the hospital in moving patients from one location to the other.” Stressed Diaz
He said they were planning to extend such gestures to Murtala Mohammad specialist hospital and Mohammad Abdullahi Wase (Nassarawa hospital) in the near future.
The Chief Medical Director, Aminu Kano teaching Hospital professor Aminu Zakari Mohammad applauded the good gesture extended by the two companies.
“This is the first time the hospital is recieving such gesture from corporate organizations.” he emphasized.
Professor Mohammad appealed to other corporate bodies in the country to emulate the kind gesture of NNPC and Belema oils ,saying Government alone cannot cater for all the needed logistics in the sector.
The Manager External Relations Belema oil Nigeria limited, Barrister Samuel Abd-Jumbo said the company was extending such gestures in education, Agriculture and health among other sectors.
