Kwara United are the new leaders of the NPFL after they thrashed Dakkada 3-0 at home in Ilorin today.

‘The Afonja Warriors’ now have 21 points from 10 matches and a better goals difference than Enyimba.

Former youth international Wasiu Alalade opened scoring for Kwara after 13 minutes of action, before striker Michael Ohanu doubled their advantage in the 72nd minute.

Substitute Alao Danbani made it 3-0 on 80 minutes.

Kano Pillars also shot to third place in the standings after a late goal by Umar Hassan gave them all three points against a resolute MFM FC.

They now have 20 points.

There were also home wins for Katsina United, Nasarawa United, while bottom team Adamawa United and Wikki Tourists were held to draws at home.

Tragedy was averted in the Adamawa United game when a player fainted after the game and there was no doctor to attend to him.

Luckily, he later regained consciousness in hospital.

It would be recalled that a Nasarawa player died last season when medical help did not come in time.
