The ongoing nationwide Forensic, Psychological assessment of the personnel of the Personnel of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps is designed to acquaint personnel with various psychological domains and standard operational procedure and the well being of the Corps in general.
The Commandant General of the National Security and Civil Defence Corps( NSCDC) Abdullahi Jubril Gana stated this during a Pilot Psychological Assessment Programme for Niger State Command of the Corps, in Minna Niger State North Central Nigeria on Thursday.
He further emphasized that the exercise is neither for promotion, down sizing or right sizing in the sector.
The Commandant General of the Civil Defence Corp who was represented at the occasion by the head of the behavioral Forensic unit of the Corp, , Mr. Ogunrinde Emmanuel Opeyemi, the CG, NSCDC, explained that it is for the screening test of for the overall wellbeing of the personnel and it will help in gauging the responsibilities of personnel as appropriate.
He assured that every personnel of the Corps will be assessed ,using some standardized test batteries that are structured in such a way that gives detailed information necessary for understanding each and everyone’s individual uniqueness.
“A clearer understanding of personnel unique behaviour will help the Corps management make some strategic decisions that will exponentially increase the achivements already being recorded by the Corps management”, he maintained .
The Civil Defense Commandant General further noted that no fewer than 17 States Commands of the Corps have been covered with the Forensic profiling of the personnel,.
” I’m concerned about the overall wellbeing of personnel of the Corps , physically, medically,emotionally and psychologically, hence, the importance of the exercise” Said Abdullahi Gana
He however pined that a clearer understanding of personnel unique behaviour will go a long way to help the Corps Management make some strategic decisions that will exponentially increase the achievements already being recorded by the agency.
