Equity transactions on the Nigerian Stock Exchange ended on a negative trend on Tuesday with the All Share Index declining by 0.02%

The All share index closed at 24,750.06 basis points on Tuesday being 29.2 lower than Monday’s 24,779.26.

In the same vein,the Market Capitalisation dropped 1billion or 0.02percent to close at N12.91 trillion on Tuesday as against N12.92trillion on Monday.

At the end of the day’s trading, a total of 167.94 million of shares valued at N1.54 billion were exchanged in 3,783 deals.

Top gainers were MTNNigeria which gained 1.64percent or N1.90k to close at N118.00, followed by Flourmill which gained 1.52percent or N0.30k to close at N2.00k.

Also Zenith bank gained 0.62 percent or N0.10k to close at N16.25k.

Top losers were Dangotesugar which lost 9.85percent or N 1.30k to close at N11.90k, followed by Nigerian Breweries which lost 2.70percent or N1.00k to close at N36.00k. Then PZ Nigeria lost 8.16percent or N0.40k to close at N4.50k.

Japauloil dominated activity chart exchanging 25,012 million shares valued at N6.65million while FBNHoldings traded 12,053 valued at N63.24 million.

On Sectoral performances, the Industrial index recorded a decline of 0.18%, just as Consumers goods index also declined by 1.4%, the Insurance index declined 1.27% and the banking index declined 0.6%, while the Oil and gas index recorded a gain of 0.22%.

Tuesday’s trading ended with 9 gainers relative to 23 losers.
