NSE: Benchmark index gains by 0.14%

The Nigerian Stock Exchange has begun the week on a strong bullish note, with the benchmark index gaining 0.14% on Monday.

The All Share Index of the equities market closed at 26,384.45 basis points, 35.72 basis points higher than Friday’s close of 26,348.73 basis points.

While the Market Capitalisation stood at 12,844 trillion Naira, gaining 18 billion Naira or 0.14% from previous close of 12,826 trillion Naira.

Investors in the equities market traded a volume of 485,897 million units of shares values at N1,078 billion in 3,861.00 deals as 12 stocks gained and 7 declined.

COURTEVILLE BUSINESS SOLUTIONS PLC led the gainers’ table when it closed at 0.23k per share after opening at 0.21k per share, thereby gaining 0.02k or 9.52 percent.

TRIPPLE GEE AND COMPANY PLC was next with an opening price of 0.59k per share and a closing price of 0.64k per share, gaining 0.05k or 8.47 percent.

Then CORNERSTONE INSURANCE PLC occupied the third position on the gainers’ table when it opened at 0.38k per share and closed at 0.41k er share, gaining 0.03k or 7.89 percent.

On the opposite side, LIVESTOCK FEEDS PLC was the biggest loser, leading by 0.04k or 8.00 percentage loss to close at 0.46k per share after opening at 0.50k per share.

Next is U A C N PLC which commenced trading at N6.50k per share and closed at N6.00 per share, declining by 0.50k or 7.69 percent.

And UNIVERSITY PRESS PLC. opened the day at N1.15k per share and closed at N1.10k per share, falling by 0.05k or 4.35 percent.

On Sectoral performances, the Industrial Goods index gained by 1.58% and Consumer Goods index gained 0.10%indices, while the Insurance index declined by 0.46%, Banking index declined by 0.02%, and Oil & Gas Index declined by 0.02%.
