The Nigerian equities market ended trading for the week on a positive note as market capitalisation gained N53 billion to close at N13.16 trillion from the previous day close of N13.11 trillion.
Consequently, the all share index closed 101.81 basis points higher at 25,267.82 basis points as against 25,166.01 basis points on Thursday.
Despite the days’ gains,the number of deals were however lower at 5,647 compared to Thursday’s 7,148 deals.
The value of stocks traded rose by 30.32 percent to N4.47 billion as 410,349 million and 904,251 million worth of FBN holdings and GuarantyBank shares exchanged hands.
BUA Cement gained N3.00 or 7.69 percent to close at N42.00 thus leading the gainers chart.
It was followed by Flourmill Nigeria PLC which gained N1.00 or 5.0 percent to close trading at N21.00 per share.
Cadbury also gained N0.65k or 8.13 percent to close at N8.65k per share.
DangoteSugar led the losers table after losing N1.10k or 7.86 percent to close at N12.90k.
Some of the other losers include Zenith bank which closed at N16.90k having lost N0.55k or 3.15 percent and Vitafoam Nigeria which lost 45k or 7.50 percent to close at N5.55k.
At the end of the Friday’s transactions, 14 stocks appreciated while 20 stocks declined.
