An opposition political party in Anambra, Advanced Congress of Democrats (ACD) has described Governor Willie Obiano’s scorecard over the past five years in office as “eventful.”
Governor Obiano was inaugurated for his second term on March 17, 2018, having won the Nov. 17, 2017 Governorship re-election in all 21 Local Government areas.
Chairman of the party in the state, Lady Oby Okafor told newsmen in Awka that the state under the watch of the governor recorded tremendous strides in virtually all the sectors of the economy.
She said that within the past five years, the state provided enabling environment for business to thrive, as the initiative continued to strengthen the state’s economy.
While describing the state as one of the fastest growing economies in the nation, she commended the governor for attracting foreign direct investments and partnership with donor agencies to speed up development of the state.
“As you can see, Governor Obiano has performed well in the state. His administration touched on the infrastructure needs of the state — Security, Youth Empowerment, Agriculture and Education through his economic policies.
“Let me make it clear that we have never had it so good in the state. I believe that the remaining three years will record more democratic dividends for the state,’’ Okafor added.
On the just-concluded state Assembly polls, she said the landslide victory recorded by the ruling; All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) showed the governor was piloting affairs of the state satisfactorily.
The ACD boss noted that with the ruling party securing 24 of the 30 state constituency seats, the governor would be well positioned to consolidate on gains he made so far.
She, then, called on Ndi Anambra to give him the needed support to enable him to impact more on lives of the people.
