Speaking to journalists at the National Secretariat of Nigeria’s governing party, after getting the form, he said, if elected, he would work in line with President Muhammadu Buhari’s plan for Agriculture, by establishing Cassava and Rice farms at different locations in Enugu state.
He added that he would push for the establishment of a standard gauge rail line that will run from the eastern to northern part of Nigeria.
“I intend to use my experience, my network across the length and breath of the country to make demands that will get my people to have the eastern corridor railways just like the western corridor railways.
“In my discussion with Mr. President, he said, he’ll do all he can to start the eastern corridor railways and the eastern corridor railways is going to go from Port Harcourt to Maiduguri,” he said.
He said that his state adopted the process of indirect primary to elect their flag bearers for the 2019 General Election.
This would make the Enugu state chapter of the APC, one of the many state chapters of the party, that have adopted the indirect primary method of electing candidates for the 2019 General Election in Nigeria.
The Director General of Voice of Nigeria said the lack of a membership database of APC members in the state would make it impossible to conduct a proper direct primary in the state.
“We have no valid databank of membership; no APC person has any card that is biometric, we can’t live in the ancient age. We are not trained for election management. So in Enugu, we decided, along with people, in the majority of the federation, that in our level to manage it better, it’s better we go for the indirect primaries.”
In another development a group known as the Minna Market Association from Niger State purchased the APC Expression of Interest and Nomination forms for the incumbent governor of Niger state, Governor Abubakar Sani Bello.
