Osun State Government is providing free train ride to people who would be visiting the State during the Eid-el-fitr to celebrate with their loved ones.
According to the Commissioner for Commerce, Industries and Cooperative, Mr Ismail Jayeoba-Alagbada, the train convenes passengers on Thursday June 14, 2018 from Lagos to Osogbo ahead of the weekend celebration of the end of the annual fasting period by Muslim faithful.
He urged people coming to Osun, and the neighbouring states to make use of the opportunities offered by the free ride to come home and celebrate with their families.
The train left the Iddo Terminus of the Nigerian Railway Corporation, Lagos by 10.00am on Thursday.
“We wish to inform indigenes of Osun who are resident in Lagos, Ogun and Oyo that as usual, this government has concluded all necessary arrangements to make this year’s festival as comfortable as possible for them by making available our free train.
“We urge our people to take advantage of this trip as well to avail themselves of our various developmental projects that have changed the face of Osun,” he said.
Jayeoba-Alagbada added that the train shall make a return trip to Lagos on Monday, 18th June 2018 after the Eid-el-fitr celebration.
