Oyo State Agricultural Development Programme (OYSADEP), in collaboration with HarvestPlus, has distributed “Vitamin A” Cassava stems to farmers’ group leaders and Extension agents in the State.
The distribution, which will later be extended to farmers for further planting in the area, was done at a recent training held for farmers’ group leaders and Extension agents across the 33 local government areas in the State.
In an exclusive interview with Agronigeria, the Program Manager, OYSADEP, Mrs. F. Akande, who said that the training was set to cover its entire value chain, noted that the training would be continually held.
“the event was meant to sensitize on the production and importance of vitamin A cassava, with its nutritional benefits and wide application.”
The beneficiaries were trained on many areas, some of which include; best agricultural practices, safe use of agrochemicals, record keeping and Cost savings.
Also present at the training were; the Permanent Secretary, Oyo State Ministry of Agriculture, Pst. V. Atiola, officials from OYSADEP and HarvestPlus, Extension agents, farmers and other stakeholders
