Pakistan bans plastic bags within MDAs


The Pakistani government has banned the use of plastic bags within ministries, departments and agencies.

This followed a me­eting between Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development Sayed Zulfikar Abbas Bukhari and Minister of State for Climate Change Zartaj Gul who visited the ministry to launch plastic bag free drive.

The announcement is aimed at helping the nation of over 170 million check pollution by non-recyclable waste.

The ban on the use of plastic bags will take effect on August 14.
