PDP sweeps all 25 legislative seats in Cross River

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP has cleared all the 25 legislative seats in Cross River State, Southern Nigeria’s in the just concluded State House of Assembly election.
This victory for the PDP has made the Cross River House of Assembly a one party legislature as all the former members besides the incumbent speaker, John Gaul Lebo, have returned re-elected.
Lebo, who is already on his second tenure as a law maker contested for the Abi-Yakurr Federal Constituency election and lost to the APC candidate, Dr. Alex Egbuna.
The Public Affairs Officer of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Aneh Etekpi Kanu confirmed that the results were presented at the 18 Local Government Area headquarters.
PDP has won all 25 seats in Cross River. The results for the State assembly election were collated and presented at each local government area centre across the 18 councils,”he said.
He said the commission would release the names of the winners since the results have been submitted to the State headquarters.
