The Pharmacist Council of Nigeria (PCN) Nasarawa State, has commenced the training of Nigeria Association of Patent Proprietary Medicine Dealers (NAPPMED) members in the state on proper dispensation of drugs.
Speaking at the opening of the training in Lafia, Nwora Okpaleake, Nasarawa State Officer of PCN, said that the training was aimed at improving the capacity of medicine dealers in line with the present realities.
Okpaleake noted that patent medicine dealers were the closest drug dispensers to rural dwellers, hence the need for the training.
“The training, which will focus on RDT-Malaria, Pregnancy-Glucomiter Test Kits, will increase their capacity for better service delivery.
It will ensure that those involved in drug vending are upgraded, in line with the current practice,” he added.
Also speaking, the state PSN Chairman, Abdulmalik Usman, said that the training would ensure that the patent medicine dealers operated within their scope.
