President Buhari arrives in Daura for Saturday’s election

President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday arrived in his home town, Daura, Katsina State ahead of Saturday’s gubernatorial and States Assembly elections.

The helicopter conveying the President touched down at the Daura Helipad at about 18:00 GMT.

The Nigerian leader was received by the Emir of Daura Alhaji Umar Faruk and other traditional rulers from the Daura Emirate Council.

He is expected to cast his vote at the Sarkin Yara Ward ‘A’ in Daura, which is about five minutes drive from his house in the same area.

President Buhari had in a message to citizens of the country, urged them to turn out in their numbers on Saturday to elect the Governors and members of the State Houses of Assembly.
