President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday reported for work like any other official day. The President was however in his office working without receiving any visitor or government functionary to brief him as has always been the case.

Although the exact time he resumed work could not be ascertained, he was still at work around 14.30 GMT.

Meanwhile, in adherence to the advice of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 and subsequent approval of the Nigerian leader, the weekly Federal Executive Council meeting did not hold.

No cabinet member or visitor related to the meeting as is usually the case was seen at the Presidential Villa on Wednesday.

The Taskforce had on Monday announced the suspension of the council meeting until further notice.

The Secretary to the Government of the Federation/Chairman PTF-COVID-19, Boss Mustapha, on Monday announced additional measures by government to curb the spread of the pandemic.

On Tuesday, March 24, the Presidency scaled down the number of personnel working in the Presidency Villa including Journalists covering the House.

It said it was adhering to the current restriction in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) against the gathering of not more than 50 persons at the same time at any venue as well as to maintain social distancing following the spread of Covid-19 pandemic.

The Security Department was seen enforcing the restriction measure in the presidency. Anyone whose name was not on the list of those cleared to enter was politely turned back.
