The Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari is on his way to South Africa on a there day official visit.
He departed the Presidential wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International airport Abuja at 13:15 GMT.
The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory Mohammed Bello bid the President farewell alongside other government officials.
The President was accompanied by the Governors of Kano, Plateau and Ebonyi states on the trip.
The Nigerian leader is expected to ‘discuss issues related to the safety and welfare of Nigerians residing in South Africa.’
He is expected back in Abuja on Friday October 4.
