Gombe signs agreement with Qatar on social services

The Gombe State Government has signed a memorandum of understanding with Qatar Charity Foundation on the provision of social services for the benefit of the common man.

Governor Muhammad Yahaya signed for State government while the Country Director of Qatar Charity Foundation, Mr Hamdi Mohammed, signed on behalf of the Qatari group.

Mr. Hamdi said; ”In the first Phase, we are going to drill 32 boreholes and build eleven mosques across the 11 local government areas of Gombe State, after all are completed we hand over the projects to the state Government, insha Allah we are going to cover more areas.

”Our projects are 100 percent funded by our foundation and are purely charity services.”

Extending charity work
Mr. Hamdi said his Foundation intended to extend its charity work and humanitarian services to Gombe in support of Governor Muhammad Yahaya’s remarkable efforts and  commitment towards the welfare of his people.

According to him, ”Charity Foundation is doing many project such as drilling Boreholes,  build Schools, Hospitals, Mosques and orphanages.

Already we have drilled more than 1300 boreholes,  built more than 400 mosques and provided orphanages across northern and southern parts of Nigeria.”

Governor Yahaya appreciated the gesture from the leadership of the Qatar Charity foundation and promised to sue the facilities in a good manner.
