Radio Benue seeks partnership with Voice of Nigeria

In effort to ensure balanced coverage and reportage of different activities in the country, the management of Radio Benue Makurdi, has called for partnership and collaboration between Voice of Nigeria.

The Director General Radio Benue, Dr. Charles Iornumbe, who made the call during a courtesy call on the Director General Voice of Nigeria, at its head quarters in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital, also noted that the aim of the visit is to tap from Voice of Nigeria’s wealth of experience to meet up with the current trend of broadcasting.

 

“Voice of Nigeria (VON) has really come a long way and my station, Radio Benue Makurdi is proud to be identified with you. I look forward to gaining more from your wealth of experience from time to time in the course of discharging my statutory responsibilities and mandateAs the new Director General of Radio Benue, I wish to appreciate the fact that I have assumed duties at a time when we are drawing nearer to the thresh-old of one political Dispensation to another. The onus in on us therefore to ensure balanced coverage and reportage of political activities of different political parties and their practitioners in line with the Nigerian Broadcasting Commission operational guideline and professional code of Conduct.”

According to Dr. Iornumbe, partnering with Voice of Nigeria, will add great value to Radio Benue due to its possession of quality equipment and its work force.

“One of the most prominent and fundamental features of our daily existence is change. In this connection, I  consciously strive to improve on the content and quality of the programmes of my station in an increasingly competitive work environment, I wish to seize the unique opportunity of this visit to sue for sustained partnership between the management of VON and management of radio Benue during  your tenure of office and  even beyond.”  

Responding, the Director General Voice of Nigeria, Mr. Osita Okechukwu, represented by the Executive Director News, Mr. Ahaziah Suleiman, reiterates Voice of Nigeria’s commitment to work with Radio Nigeria in all areas needed.

“Where be, whichever way we could be of assistance, you can give us a token; paid in for those who will be coming either from the engineering, ICT or news and .we will be ready, we do trainings not just training, we do training and attach personnel to understudy our production for a while before they go home. I believe that when the go back home they will visit not be the same as they come, in VON, we don’t have money but what we do is to as much as impact knowledge on people and we are ready  to collaborate with you in way possible,” he said.

The visit followed suit with a tour of all the facilities within voice of Nigeria head quarters, by the Management of Radio Benue Makurdi.
