Religious leaders urged to guard their utterances

Religious leaders have been urged to desist from making utterances that would damage the peaceful co-existence in Kaduna State and Nigeria as a whole.

The Sectary General of the Supreme Council of Islamic Affairs, Nafiu Baba Ahamed made the call during Press Briefing in Kaduna State, North West Nigeria.

Baba Ahamed who is the executive member of the Kaduna State Peace Commission, called on the electorates to vote peacefully for the development of the State.

“The Kaduna State Peace Commission once again, appeals to voters, the entire people of Kaduna State, Independent National Electoral Commission INEC and other stakeholders in the Electoral process to ensure that the Kaduna Governorship and State House of Assembly elections are free, fair and peaceful”.

The Commission urged all people of the State to immediately report any threat to peace and security during or in the aftermath of the elections to relevant authorities for appropriate action.
