Residents of Ado village of Karu Local Government Area in Nasarawa state have expressed delight over the inauguration of a 1km road in the area.
Mr. Samuel Akala, Chairman, Karu Local Government, at the inauguration, said that the 1km Ado-Kugbaru road project is one of the promises he made to the people of the area during his campaign tour in 2015.
Akala said that he could not stand seeing the people of the area suffering due to the previous state of the road.
According to him, the Ado-Kugbaru road is at a very strategic position because of its capacity to link up with many surrounding communities from Nasarawa to Kaduna State.
He said his administration would ensure that most major roads within the Karu metropolis are put in good shape with standard drainage system before the expiration of his administration.
Governor Umaru Al-Makura of Nasarawa State, commended the chairman for his numerous projects in the council.
Al-Makura, who was represented by Mr. Victor Terah, Commissioner for Water Resources in the State, said his government is ready to collaborate with the council’s administration to tackle challenges facing the residents within the area.
Mr. Adeyi Dickson, a resident said that the road when completed would bring a big relief from the effect of dust and damage to vehicles to the people of the area.
Dickson appealed to the construction company to ensure that it completed the work before the rainy season fully sets in.
Mr. Tony Khadra, the Managing Director, Bauhaus Global Investment, the contractor handling the construction of the road promised to deliver the project on time before the rainy season.
