Cristiano Ronaldo fired reigning Serie A champions Juventus four points clear at the top of the Italian Serie A table with a brace in a 2-1 win at home to Parma.
The Portuguese superstar opened the scoring late in the first half when his low strike took a deflection and nestled in the net.
However, 10 minutes into the second half, Andreas Cornelius leveled the match for Parma as the Danish striker rose above Ronaldo to nod in a towering header.
But Ronaldo’s response was ruthless, as he met Paulo Dybala’s cutback with a first-time finish just 3 minutes later to ensure the three points belong to the Bianconeri.
The win gave Juventus an unexpected boost in the title race as 2nd-placed Inter were held to a 1-1 draw at Lecce, who are just one point above drop-zone.
Ciro Immobile of Lazio leads the goal-scoring charts in Italy with 23 goals, Ronaldo is second with 16 goals, while Romelu Lukaku of Inter Milan is in 3rd place with 14 goals.
The Serie A race has entered the business end of the season, where a draw seems like a loss. Inter Milan and Lazio seem to be the front-runners so far in chasing champions Juventus all the way till the end of the season.
