Scotland re-appoints Alex McLeish as Manager

Former Scottish manager Alex McLeish returned to his old job as manager of Scotland.

He succeeds Gordon Strachan left the role in October following Scotland’s failure to qualify for this year’s World Cup finals in Russia.

The 59 year old managed the Tartan Army from 29 January 2007 to November same year, but quit after failing to qualify Scotland for the 2008 Euros Co-hosted by Austria and Switzerland.

McLeish’s first games in charge will be the friendly against Costa Rica at Hampden Park on March 23, followed by an away game against Hungary four days later.
