Senate President, Kwara governor, others commend peaceful voting exercise

The Senate President, Bukola Saraki has commended the voters for their orderliness and peaceful conduct during the exercise.

Dr. Saraki while speaking with newsmen after casting his vote alongside his wife, Mrs. Toyin Saraki, at Ode Opobiyi polling unit 005, Ajikobi ward in Ilorin West local government area of the state blamed the low turnout of voters on the heavy deployment of military and other security operatives for the exercise.

Also the kwara State Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed and his wife, Mrs. Omolewa Ahmed voted at his Adebiogbon polling unit at Share, Ifelodun Local Govt.

Governor Ahmed has commended the people of the State for their peaceful conduct at the Governorship and House of Assembly Elections held today across the country.

Also the Kwara State Deputy Governor, Elder Peter Kisira has commended the people of the State for their peaceful conduct at the Governorship and House of Assembly Elections held today across the country.

Speaking with Journalists, the Deputy Governor described the election as peaceful and commended the electorate for their orderliness and peaceful conduct during the exercise.

The Governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress in Kwara State, Alhaji AbdulRasaq AbdulRahman described the exercise as seamless and commended the independent National Electoral Commission for providing the necessary facilities.

Also speaking, a former governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress in the state, Alhaji Mashood Mustapha, said there were cases of voter’s apathy in the morning, but the turnout increased.

Alhaji Mustapha also commended the electoral umpire for ensuring that the card readers work perfectly in the conduct of this governorship and state houses of assembly elections.
