Super Eagles captain John Mikel Obi says the 2-0 loss the team suffered against Serbia is part of a learning curve.

Reacting via twitter, Mikel said Nigerian fans should not despair, as the team would get in shape and perform well at the 2018 FIFA world cup.

“You don’t lose, you learn. Looking forward to being back on the pitch for our remaining preparation games,” he tweeted.

Mikel failed to play the two friendly encounters for the Super Eagles due to work permit challenges.

Nigeria beat Poland 1-0 last week, but fell 0-2 to Serbia on Tuesday night, with Aleksandr Mitrovic getting a brace.

Next up for the Eagles will face Democratic Republic of Congo in Nigeria on Monday, May 28, followed by a prestige game against England’s Three Lions at Wembley five days later.
