Sokoto Government takes steps to boost education sector

The Sokoto state government is currently constructing fifty administration blocks and another fifty blocks of six classroom buildings in 50 schools across the twenty three local government in the state.

Governor, Aminu waziri Tambuwal, stated this when he paid an unscheduled visit to one of the project sites at Junior Secondary School Marnona in Wurno local government in the State.

Governor Tambuwal expressed satisfaction with the quality of the project being executed under the ministry for local Government and Community Development.

He however directed the contractor that constructed another storey building within the school premises under the SDG project to mobilize and get back to the site with a view to rectifying the lapses observed  in the execution of the project.

Emergency Policy
The Governor therefore reaffirmed the commitment of his administration to uplift the standard of education in the state through his emergency policy declared in his first tenure.

The governor warned that state government would not accept shoddy works and challenged contractors to brace up for the task of executing high quality projects.

Conducting the Governor round the projects in the school, Director of Planning of the  Ministry, Mr Sani Ahmed, said the project is at final stages.

Mr Ahmed assured the Governor that the projects would soon be handed over to the government.

The Governor was accompanied on the visit by Secretary to the State Government, Mr Saidu Umar, some Commissioners and members of the state House of Assembly.
