Sokoto partners with security agencies to curb kidnapping

The Sokoto State government has reiterated more commitments to continue to partner with security agencies for the sustenance of peace and security.

The State Governor, Aminu Tambuwal, gave the assurance while receiving the General Officer Commanding 8th Division of the Nigerian Army, Major General, Jide Ogunlade, who paid him a courtesy visit.

Governor Tambuwal commended the existing synergy between security agencies working in the State, but urged them to sustain the momentum  for the sustainable peace and stability in the State.

He assured the security agencies of unflinching support of the State government, Traditional institutions and religious leaders for the success of their various assignments.

The Governor however thanked the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai, for the strategic posting of the GOC to the 8 Divsion in Sokoto,  the area where he was familiar with which would help him to deliver in his new assignments.

Return of Peace
The new GOC of the 8th Divsion, Major General, Jide Ogunlade, reaffirmed their  commitment to work hard with a view to ensuring the return of lasting peace to the state.

He expressed gratitude to the State government for it’s numerous assistance to the division which helped it to settle Down some of its activities.

The new GOC assured the governor that Nigeria Army would continue to partner with sister security agencies in order to deliver its constitutional mandate effectively.
