Sokoto to train 1,700 youth on furniture making

The Sokoto State Government has concluded all arrangement to train 1,700 youths in furniture making as part efforts to create more job opportunities and make youth self reliant.

The State Governor Aminu Tambuwal announced this during an interactive session with the youths as part of activities marking the country’s 59th Independence anniversary.

Governor Tambuwal said that the ”training programme would be handled by an indigenous company Yusha’u furniture factory.”

Investing in education
He said that his administration would continue to invest in education with a view to providing adequate opportunity to youths as leaders of tomorrow to acquire sound education.

He reaffirmed the commitment of his administration to provide dividends of democracy in all the nook and cranny of the state.

Governor Tambuwal assured people living with disability in the state that Government would soon appoint a senior special assistant to the Governor among them.

The Governor praised youths in the state for their peaceful Co-existence and urged them to sustain the momentum.

He added that Government would scale up school enrollment and build more classrooms and laboratories across the state.

At the interactive session various speakers commended the giant strides made by the governor towards moving the state to greater level.
