Speaker faults INEC declaration of Bauchi election as inconclusive

The Speaker of the Nigerian House of Representatives, Mr Yakubu Dogara has expressed dissatisfaction on the declaration of the gubernatorial elections by INEC as inconclusive in Bauchi State, North East Nigeria.
Mr Dogara in press briefing organised by the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in the state said the election has been won and lost.
“We’ve heard rumors that apart from the illegal cancelation done in Tafawa Balawa which we are challenging now. We were still sourcing for polling units that they which they later did after they have collated and declared the results yesterday,” he said.
Also, the Candidate of the PDP, Mr Bala Mohammed expressed his gratitude to the people of Bauchi State for voting the party regardless of the inconclusive declaration.
The Party Chairman, Mr Hamza Akuyam stated that upon the turn of event in the governorship elections of the state, stakeholders of the PDP met in an emergency session to discuss the forward to the challenges experienced.
According to him “we condemned in very strong terms and reject the arbitrary and unconstitutional decision of the Resident Electoral Commissioner and State Returning Officer to declare the Bauchi State Governorship Election as inconclusive.”
He said the Bauchi State PDP is exploring all legal options to expeditiously return the peoples Mandate within the shortest time possible.
