The Governor of Taraba State, Mr. Darius Dickson has called on politicians to avoid playing politics of bitterness and to concede defeat in good faith.

The Governor made the call when he received the former Minister of Women Affairs and Governorship Candidate of the United Democratic Party UDP in Taraba State, Senator Aisha Alhassan at the government house in Jalingo, the state’s capital.

He said in an election there is a winner and a loser but the outcome of the election must not be discredited but taken in good faith.

“The outcome of an election is the not the end of life, I am a Governor today with a terminal date, so politician must shun the politics of bitterness”

On her part the former Minister of Women Affairs and Governorship Candidate of United Democratic Party UDP in Taraba Senator Aisha Alhassan said the purpose of her visit was to congratulate the Governor on his victory at the polls and to pledge her support to his administration.

She called on the Governor to embrace all and sundry in his second tenure for the peace and development of the state.

“I have come here today with my supporters to congratulate you on your victory at the polls and to pledge my support for your administration”

It would be recalled that the former Minister of Women Affairs and Governorship Candidate of United Democratic Party UDP Senator Aisha Alhassan had contested election twice against Governor Darius Ishaku Dickson in 2015 and 2019 but lost both.

It is believed that the visit would enshrine peace between the supporters of both parties in the state.
