Fikayo Tomori has made the Premier League Team of the Week after his standout display against Brighton.
The Chelsea academy graduate alongside Tammy Abraham and Mason Mount are the glowing lights of positivity at Stamford Bridge under Frank Lampard.
The Blues legend took the reign after Maurizio Sarri’s exit and has been saddled with the task of rebuilding the Blues, who are currently serving a two-year transfer ban for breaching FIFA rules regarding transfer of underage players.
Lampard has turned to the club’s academy in his quest to rebuild the team, thus handing major roles to Tomori and other players from the club’s academy set-up.
Tomori has already repaid his faith by grabbing a goal in the win against Wolves, caging Mohamed Salah in Chelsea’s 2-1 home defeat to the Reds and posting a five-star performance in the club’s first home win of the season against Brighton.
Tomori had 100 touches, made 90 passes with 90 per cent accuracy on Match Day 7 against Brighton.
