Ebuehi passed fit to feature for S.Eagles against Brazil

The coach of the Super Eagles of Nigeria Gernot Rohr has been handed a boost ahead of the naming of his squad for the upcoming friendly game against Brazil,

Tyrone Ebuehi who has been out injured since his move to Portuguese side Benfica after the World Cup where he starred for Nigeria has finally played his first competitive game in over one year.

He returned towards the end of last season but wasn’t fit enough to play any game with this season marked as the year where he will prove himself at the club to make up for the disappointment of last season.

A call up to the senior national team of Nigeria for their last friendly game against Ukraine didn’t come to live as he suffered a setback in training which further sidelined him but he is back in full training now.

However over the weekend he played his first official game for Benfica but it was for the U23s and he lasted 45 minutes in the game which they edged 2-1 against their counterparts from Academica in the Portuguese second division.

After the game he didn’t suffer any relapse and will likely play another game for the U23s before making his senior competitive bow for the main team which could come before the official announcement of the Super Eagles squad for their next friendly game against Brazil next month.
