Fans of the super eagles have been reacting to the teams 0-1 loss to Czech republic on Wednesday.

The super eagles barely troubled the Czech defence line as the 1972 European champions ensured the Eagles ended their world cup friendlies with yet another defeat.

The super eagles twitter community no doubt had a lot to say.

Some fans were yet to understand the Eagles playing pattern.

“Trying to understand super eagles team,” Odudu Wilson said via his handle.

Abolaji Deen‏ could not comprehend the combination of Alex Iwobi and captain John Mikel Obi in the midfield.

“Fast Iwobi playing behind slow Mikel……Who does that? – GR,” he noted.

Goal-shy Eagles, shylock Czechs

Fans were at a loss as to the inability of the super eagles to trouble the Czech defense line despite dominating possession and creating many chances that were not utilized.

The Eagles had less than five shots on target throughout the encounter.

“Czech just capitalised on our poor opening minutes to score and park the bus for the remainder of the game. Three straight losses in 4 games isn’t good for confidence,” lamented a twitter user identified as Lucas.

But not all Eagles fans seemed perturbed by the outcome.

They argued that it would be wrong to judge the Eagles’ world cup hopes based on the friendly matches, most of which were meant to test different formations and strategies.

“There’s no need to press the panic button, we’ll come through against Croatia. Czech Republic played a very defensive game; they literally ‘stopped playing’ when they went a goal up. How Ighalo consistently finds himself offside beats me though,” said Joseph Adebayo.

Joseph’s position was supported by yet another fan.

“Nigerians get wahala (trouble)… If una (your) club dey loose (lost) na we go get peace (we won’t get peace). Super Eagles lost so what? If they had won all the friendlies and loose at the world cup nko? Make una chill first we can start hammering after their world cup performance,” insisted Ken-Tebu Elliott O, another Eagles supporter

The Eagles must now shake off their indifferent pre-world cup form to stamp their authority during the mundial when they face Croatia on June 16.

The die is cast.
