The National Agricultural Seeds Council, the agency responsible for regulating and ensuring that farmers get access to quality seeds in Nigeria has unveiled the SEEDCODEX to checkmate substandard seeds in the country.
The SEEDCODEX is a short messaging code system where farmers can scratch a foil tag on their seed packs and text it to a particular code also on the seed packs to verify the authenticity of the seed.
The 1392 code is easy to access by farmers and available to all mobile networks in the country.
