Roger Federer smashed past David Goffin in straight sets, to advance to the US Open quarters.
The Swiss Maestro who had dropped the opening set in each of his fisrt two ties at the tournament, finally found his groove in New York to get a 6-2 head start in the match.
Five-time US Open champion was too hot to handle for Goffin in the second set as well, with the Belgian showing difficulty in holding his serve, which led to another thumping 6-2 win for Federer.
Switzerland’s world number three then grew even more confident in the third set to wrap it up with a flawless 6-love.
With the victory, Federer has reached his 13th US Open quarters, tying former world number one Andre Agassi for the second most in the Open Era.
Up next for Federer is Bulgaria’s Grigor Dimitrov.
