President Muhammadu Buhari has called on Nigerians to continue to explore the rich cultural diversity and tradition of their various communities to attract socio-economic development.
A statement by the spokesperson of the Ministry of Interior, Mohammed Manga, said the President made the call during the 2019 Celebration of Olojo Cultural Festival in Ile-Ife, Osun State, southwestern Nigeria.
Olojo Festival is an annual Yoruba cultural event to celebrate the day the race believes the Almighty created the earth.
The President said culture and tradition were necessary tools to strengthen brotherhood, peace and security within the society.
Buhari observed further that cultural values were synonymous to security, economic growth and transparency and urged Nigerians to continue to imbibe the norms and values of their culture and tradition so as to have a safe and secure nation.
