The meeting of the National Economic Council, NEC has begun on Thursday at the Council Chambers of the Presidential Villa with Vice President Yemi Osinbajo presiding.
The meeting which commenced at about 11.005 a.m Nigerian time had governors from many Nigerian states in attendance, while others were being represented by their deputies.
Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha; Minister of Finance and National Planning, Zainabe Ahmed; Minister of State for Petroleum, Timiprieye Sylva, among other federal government officials, were present at the meeting.
Some of the issues that may be deliberated upon at the meeting included security, the National Livestock Transformation Plan and the repayment of the bailout funds to the states.
Thursday’s NEC meeting is the 2nd since the President Muhammadu Buhari’s 2nd Tenure began.
