As the Fourth UN Environment Assembly ended in Nairobi over the weekend, the sixth Global Environment Outlook – also refered to as the GEO-6 – was made public.
The GEO-6 is the world’s most comprehensive environmental report, covering a range of topics, issues and potential solutions.
It gives a thorough analysis of what will happen if we continue with business as usual and what actions needs to be taken to put our planet on the right course; building on the findings of previous GEO reports, including the six regional assessments (2016), and outlines the current state of the environment, illustrates possible future environmental trends and analyses the effectiveness of policies.
This flagship report shows how governments can put the world on the path to a truly sustainable future.
It emphasizes that urgent and inclusive action is needed by decision makers at all levels to achieve a healthy planet with healthy people.
