Violence erupts in parts of Yenagoa as election rounds off in Bayelsa

Election has been relatively peaceful in Bayelsa since its commencement in the morning except Opolo – Epie town in Yenagoa the state capital where there were pockets of violence which commenced at about 12 noon today.

Some unknown gunmen who were supporters of some political parties started shootings and one person was critically injured.

After the incident, some security forces arrived the scene.

Also in some part of Biogbolo-Epie community in Yenagoa, election did not take place because some unknown gun men stormed the polling units and hijacked the ballot boxes.
