VON Director-General promises better days ahead

The Director-General Voice of Nigeria, Mr Osita Okechuwkwu says he will ensure elevation of the broadcasting house to compete favorably with their contemporaries globally.

The Director-General gave this indication while presenting certificate of participation to about twenty-three Voice of Nigeria staff who took part in a month training on basic broadcasting held in Lagos.

Mr Okechuwkwu also assured his staff of adequate training and retraining to equip them to attain individual and collective goals.

According to him, “the training was organised to train you on the job that you are doing so that you can be masters in your field and when you are properly trained, you become your own masters in your own job.”

He said that the management has been reaching out to the stakeholders to support in the face-lift of the facilities of the news organisation and has so far enjoyed positive responses.

Mr Okechuwkwu was represented at the occasion by the Executive Director News, Mr. Ahazia Sulaiman.

Earlier, the Director of Training, Mr Ben Shemang also enjoined staff to be proactive and more dedicated in the discharge of their duties.

He asked them to “be a standard bearer of Voice of Nigeria” wherever they find themselves and utilise the training opportunity to scale up in their daily activities.
