Nigeria’s Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has inspected the multi-billion Naira vehicle underpass being executed by the Kano State government at Katsina road, adjoining Kofarr Ruwa near Bukavo barracks to ease transportation within and outside the state.
The 1.3 billion naira project is one of the urban renewal infrastructure being built by the Kano state government to ease transportation especially reduction of traffic gridlock in the second biggest commercial city in Nigeria.
The Vice President who visited the project in 2016 commended the speed at which the project was being carried out almost to near completion in the face of scarce resources..
Osinbajo also paid a courtesy visit on the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Muhammadu Sanusi II at his palace located in the heart of the ancient city.
He held a closed door meeting with the monarch and the Kano state governor, Dr. Umar Ganduje which lasted for about 50 minutes.
Osinbajo was in Kano on a private visit to attend the Wedding Ceremony of one of his personal Assistant, Alhaji Hafiz Ibrahim Kawu.
He attended the wedding ceremony at the Umar Bin Khattab Mosque located at Dangi Round About along Zaria Road in Kano metropolis, .along-side Governor Abdullahi Ganduje, Sen. Barau Jibril-Maliya, Sen. Kabir Gaya and the Senior Special Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on National Assembly Matters, Alhaji Abdurrahman Kawu Sumaila.
