Nigerians have been urged to spread the good news about the country and that of fellow citizens for the growth and development of the country.
The Nigeria’s Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo made the call at the 2019 Service of Nine Lessons and Carols organised by VON, FRCN and NTA in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital as part of Christmas activities.
The Vice President who was represented by Professor Bolaji Owasanoye, Chairman, Independent Corrupt Practices and other related offences Commission, appreciated God for His mercies on the nation as the year draws to an end and also reflected on the 7th lessons from the Saint Luke’s Gospel, chapter two verses eight to fourteen.
“Many of us do not spread good news about other people or about our nation. Indeed, Dr Enenche has told us that many of us speak negative things about the country we should not do so. As a nation, we have every reason to be thankful for God’s mercies this year being an election year,” he said.
“We have to thank God for the mercies of seeing the twelfth month of 2019. And another yet season of the celebration of the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Stiller of all Storms. I pray that the remaining days of 2019 will bring all of us joy, bring joy to the nation and that the remaining Storms of 2019 will not drown us in the name of Jesus.
Pastor Paul Enenche, senior Pastor of Dunamis International Gospel Centre, who was the Guest Speaker at the event, Dr Paul Enenche expressed hope for the nation and its leadership.
According to him, there are storms of Godlessness, Storm of Wickedness, storm of backwardness amongst others but he urged Nigerians to be optimistic that something new is coming out of the nation because Jesus is the answer to the storms.
The Director General, Voice of Nigeria, Mr Osita Okechukwu who spoke on the significance of the event also spoke on the gains of leadership of Nigeria’s President Mohammed Buhari.
“The leadership is committed to serving the Fatherland and the entire humanity”.
The event showcased different melodious renditions of Classical Christmas Carols and songs with a unique Nigerian flavour from Guest Singer, Abiodun Oladapo, Mass Choir renditions with Lead Soprano by the former Director, NTA, Mrs Ify Uzodinma titled O Thou That Tallest.
Children were not left out as the Eagles Music Academy Abuja showcased their piece.
There were also combined performances by FRCN, NTA and VON –NYIN imi komfi ekpiri obasi, an Efik Carol as well as separate Choir renditions from the three organisations.
Other Choir Performances are Dunamis International Gospel Choir-In the Glory of His Majesty He Reigns as well as Performance by Barione Tope Ojeme- Gbo Ohun Awon Angeli Ti NKORINS, ALLELUA CHORUS amongst others.
