World Oral Health day: 100 drug addicts receive free dental services

A Non Govermental Organisation, Women For Women Foundation has offered free dental service to 100 drug addicts and mentally challenged persons at Nigga Rehabilitation Centre in Kaduna.
The Chairperson of the organization, Hajiya Maryam Abubakar who also doubles as the Managing Director, Fatima Clinic and Maternity, Unguwan Dosa Kaduna said, the NGO decided to celebrate the day by offering the free services.
According to her, the inmates were at the rehabilitation centre due to drug addiction which has destroyed their teeth.
They need dental care, scaling and polishing, hence the decision to treat them.
“They don’t leave the center and are likely not to have the privilege to afford the services, so we decided to bring it to their door steps”, she stressed.
Hajiya Maryam therefore encouraged the inmates to take good care of their health. The expert advised them to be good ambassadors whenever they have to leave the rehabilitation centre and as well shun their old life style.
On his part, the founder of the Rehabilitation centre, Malam Lawal Maduru thanked the organization for coming to the centre to offer free dental services to the inmates.
He also called on the general public to give special care to their teeth once yearly even if they cannot do it twice a year.
